The metropolis of the future, a photographic fantasy.
This lecture was part of an exhibition dedicated to Evelyn Hofer's work in New York.
The presentation revisited the special place that photography occupies in the metropolitan history of New York. The turning point of the 1960s and 1970s, during which Evelyn Hofer's work was created, was put into context, a time when the city's urban and infrastructural modernization was met with resistance and controversy, as the city faced a major crisis and global environmental concerns were already emerging.
