The second session of the 2021-2022 LATTS seminar (Monday, January 17, 2 p.m.)

Jean-Marc Offner, CEO of a-urba (Bordeaux Aquitaine urban planning agency) since 2009, will present his book:

To solve mobility problems: public transport!

To combat the housing crisis: home ownership for all!

We must fight urban sprawl!

There can be no community spirit without residential diversity!

Proximity rebuilds social and political ties!

To better manage territories, let's change their boundaries!

Architecture makes the city!

These outdated beliefs belong to the France of the Trente Glorieuses, which still saw itself as rural and opposed the city to the countryside. They ignore the realities of an urban, mobile, connected 21st century and are unsuited to environmental requirements. Yet, elevated to dogma, they continue to govern cities and territories.

Jean-Marc Offner deconstructs them one by one to enable us to think about the city of tomorrow.
