Bio

Anne-Charlotte Mariel-Zema is a PhD student in sociology. Building on existing research into digital data and public administration, she is interested in the implementation of data governance and the impact that data has on public administration. She examines the work carried out on data by public officials, the associated tools that enable value to be extracted from these vast amounts of information (visualisation tools, AI), and the resulting practices of quantifying public activity and action.

After completing a bachelor’s and master’s degree at the University of Toulouse II Jean Jaurès and a stint in politics, she eventually returned to research to pursue her PhD at the University of Paris Nanterre as part of a CIFRE programme with the City of Paris.
