Stève Bernardin

Bio

Stève Bernardin is a senior lecturer in sociology at Gustave Eiffel University, a researcher at LATTS, and a lecturer at the AP-HP and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

His doctoral thesis focused on the public issue of road safety in the United States. This led to several publications, notably in the journal *Technology and Culture* published by the American Society for the History of Technology. He subsequently took part in collaborative research on smart cities, the findings of which were published in part in the journal *Quaderni* and as part of a special issue he co-edited for the journal *Réseaux*. More recently, he edited the collective work *Private Crusades and Public Problems: The Sociological Legacy of Joseph Gusfield*, published by Presses Universitaires de Rennes. His current research takes the announced roll-out of autonomous vehicles in the United States as its case study.

A former Fulbright scholar, he studied the sociology of science at Harvard University before completing a PhD in political science at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
