Led by the Géographie-Cités laboratory and LATTS, the FINURBASIE project examines the modalities of the "financialization" of urban production sectors in China and India. More specifically, this project explores the forms taken by the circulation of financial capital destined for real estate in these large demographic powers experiencing strong urban growth, as well as their effects on building production. It addresses issues related, on the one hand, to the place of real estate in increasingly internationally integrated economies characterized by a proliferation of global financial crises and, on the other hand, to the ways in which urban growth is financed in large "emerging" countries. The aim is to move beyond general, non-spatial approaches in order to describe the geography of these new sources of urban financing and highlight the processes of territorial differentiation in their dissemination mechanisms.
