The ‘Domestic Money’ seminar is organised by Hélène Ducourant, Jeanne Lazarus and Ana Perrin-Heredia. There will be six sessions in 2026, with two presentations per session, featuring two sociologists and a variety of topics… but always centred on money.

Money and (release from) detention

  • Valérian Benazeth (Cesdip, Paris Saclay) – Deconstructing the ‘worship of money’ as a way out of delinquency: a necessary shift in the processes of desistance?
  • Melchior Simioni (University of Strasbourg, Sage) – Prison money: between disciplinary mechanism and instrument of resistance.
