Bio

Lucette Moatti is beginning her PhD thesis entitled: ‘Modernisation of the Grandes Écoles system: the influence of gender relations on educational pathways’, supervised by Corinne Delmas. The thesis focuses on analysing gender relations within the Grandes Écoles, with a view to identifying the various factors that influence mechanisms of exclusion within these prestigious institutions. From a general perspective, this thesis will examine how the grandes écoles contribute to the transmission of gendered models specific to current power structures, which are directly applicable in the labour market.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Lucette Moatti specialised in research sociology. This confirmed her desire to pursue a PhD. She then wrote a dissertation on the construction of hegemonic masculine norms within several engineering schools and teacher training colleges.
