Bio

Thesis title: ‘Modernisation of the “grandes écoles” system: the influence of gender relations on educational pathways’

Lucette Moatti’s thesis examines student socialisation in engineering schools and the specific gender relations that arise from it. She is particularly interested in the intertwining of social relations within these elite institutions, which are far from being homogeneous environments, as they are shaped by values that are sometimes contradictory. She highlights how these relations are co-constructed and constantly redefined by the social context in which they evolve.
