Digital Networks: A World for Amateurs. New Relationships between Mediators, Mediation, and Mediatization
FACOS-UFSM, Santa Maria-RS, 277 p.
This book is one of the results of the seminar held with Patrice Flichy, in the Postgraduate Program in Communication Sciences at Unisinos, entitled Amateurs in the digital world: towards a new democracy of skills, an initiative of the Research Group on Mediatization and Social Processes and Epistecom. The seminar was held as part of the Mediatization and Digital Technologies/School of Advanced Studies/CAPES project and was presented around three themes: the contemporary technological imaginary; the individual in search of their identity; and the cultural practices of amateurs. This book addresses these three themes theoretically and empirically, covering a wide range of topics related to individuals, institutions, technologies, and the media. It is one of three books in a series on the seminars developed as part of the project, which also featured contributions from Bernard Miège and Serge Proulx.
