Lise Fourdrignier

Lise Fourdrignier is a geographer and urban planner who holds degrees from Gustave Eiffel University and the École d’Urbanisme de Paris. Since 2024, she has been a contract doctoral student in Spatial Planning and Urban Planning at Gustave Eiffel University, affiliated with LATTS, under the supervision of Yoan Miot and Cécile Vignal. Her research focuses on long-term vacant private housing in France and examines both the social and property-related dynamics of vacant housing and the frameworks for public housing policy. It is based, on the one hand, on a qualitative study of property owners, drawing on biographical interviews and an approach centered on social, family, and residential trajectories. On the other hand, she analyzes the categories, instruments, and discourses employed by institutional and nonprofit actors involved in regulating vacancy. Conducted in both rural areas (Puy-de-Dôme) and Paris, her research is grounded in a critical and intersectional urban geography perspective, at the intersection of the sociology of housing and urban political economy, with the aim of more broadly examining transformations in real estate markets as well as public regulations, viewed through their technical, moral, and political dimensions.
