I hold a Ph.D. in sociology and focus primarily on the following topics: risks, disasters, and death.
Since 2011, as part of my studies (master’s and Ph.D.) as well as through Franco-Japanese research projects, I have conducted field research in Japan in regions affected by various types of disasters: the Tohoku tsunami, the Fukushima nuclear accident, and the Minamata industrial disease.
More recently, as part of my postdoctoral research, I conducted a comparative study in France and Japan on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, as part of an international collaborative research project, I am studying “sudden and mass deaths” in the context of crises and disasters to reexamine the relationship between survivors and the deceased in affected areas.
