The LATTS
, Laboratoire Techniques, Territoires et Sociétés (School of Bridges ParisTech, University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, CNRS) defines itself, as indicated in its title, by an approach that takes material, technical, and territorial dimensions seriously through geography, history of technology, sociology, and political science. It is also defined by its ability to connect objects related to administration, the city, and the world of work: digital networks and infrastructure, the economic dynamics of urban production, technical cultures, management indicators in businesses and administrations, and urban risks.
Over time, the objects of attention shift, research hypotheses change, and the relationships between these components are reinvented… but the assembly seems to be robust. So, to test this robustness, support it, and perhaps update some of its explanatory mechanisms, why not continue the conversation between founders and current members, focusing on some of the most contemporary subjects of our research activity?

The EUREQUA project (Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Environmental Requalification of Neighborhoods) is an ANR (Sustainable Buildings and Cities) initiative launched by Sinda Haouès-Jouve of LISST (UMR 5193), which began in March 2012 and ended in February 2017 with an international symposium focused on "interdisciplinary and participatory approaches." This research brought together nine partners (LATTS, LISST, GAME, CEREA, ENSA/LRA, IFSTTAR, LEPD, ATELIER LION, IAU/IdF). It examines the challenges of environmental requalification of the urban living environment at the neighborhood level. The project adopts an original methodological approach based on a multidisciplinary team of geographers, sociologists, climatologists, atmospheric physicists, acousticians, and architects, in collaboration with urban environment managers. The aim was to understand how to develop a concept of environmental quality in the living environment that combines a renewed reflection on the materiality of the urban environment with sensitive and social approaches to the relationship with the environment.

Servane Gueben-Venière, Laure Creton-Cazanave, and Jonathan Fayeton will lead the opening week on "crisis management" for second-year ENPC students from February 14 to 17. The program includes a theoretical introduction on the first day, discussions with professionals on the second day, and two days of workshops to design and conduct crisis management exercises.
Sibel Ozer (M1 ENSA Paris-La Villette) is starting a research internship at LATTS with Elsa Vivant. The aim of her internship is to propose a method for analyzing networks based on interviews conducted as part of the Cluster 9_3 project.
